Matt Powers Memorial Baseball Field!

Hello Mustangs,

Great things continue to happen in our community on behalf of Matt and his family!

Mr. Powers just informed me that a resolution to rename and dedicate a baseball field at Lakewood Ranch Park (across from the YMCA) has gone before the commissioners today for a vote. It passed and the field is now officially the Matthew Ryan Powers Memorial Field!

A dedication ceremony would likely be part of the opening day activities for the Spring Season (around February 1st). Information regarding this great dedication will be in the Sarasota Herald, East County Observer, and on Channel 8, BayNews 9, and Fox 13 tonight.
