Director of Bands, Lakewood Ranch High School
Ron is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is entering his 16th year as the Director of Bands and Fine Arts Department Chair for the Lakewood Ranch High School band program in Lakewood Ranch, Florida. Lambert conducts the Wind Ensemble and the Advanced Jazz Band. He also arranges for the groups and collaborates with esteemed professionals John Meehan, John Mapes, Becca Sullens-Anderson and Jefferey Capponi to produce and coordinate the Marching Mustang Band’s music and visual design.
Ron most recently served 3 years as the Assistant Director of the Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps. 2020 will mark his 36th year in the activity, a journey that began with the Illiana Lancers Drum and Bugle Corps from Chicago, Illinois.
During his time in the University of Illinois Bands, the Marching Illini and as a former marching member of The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps, Ron studied with esteemed educators such as James Keene, Gary Smith, Jim Campbell, Bret Kuhn, Scott Johnson and Joe Cartagena. His first six years of teaching in Florida were as an Associate Director at the University of South Florida where he ran the USF Show Band, Basketball Band, and Athletic Bands Percussion including the Herd of Thunder DrumLine and Indoor Percussion Theater. He also served as Assistant Director at LRHS for six years and as Director of Bands at Southeast High School in Bradenton for two years.
Mr. Lambert spent several years as a faculty member of the Music For All/Bands of America Summer Symposium Leadership Camp alongside such great leadership trainers as Dr. Tim Lautzenheiser, Fran Kick, and Scott Lang. He has also served as an instructor and arranger for many nationally recognized marching band programs in Florida, Texas, and California and for several drum and bugle corps around the country. He is a professional drummer who has many recording and touring credits and over 25 years of private and curricular education experience. In 2007, Ron co-produced and arranged for the critically acclaimed touring and off-Broadway musical BattleDrum. He is a proud endorser and ambassador for the Yamaha, Remo, Zildjian, and Innovative Percussion companies.
Ron is the 2018 Lakewood Ranch Teacher of the Year. He is also a two-time Lakewood Ranch Fine Arts teacher of the year. He is a 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 Best and Brightest Teacher Scholarship Award recipient and is a GRAMMY nominee, finishing as a Quarterfinalist for the 2017 GRAMMY Educators Award. His professional affiliations include FMBC, FBA, FMEA, Phi Mu Alpha, DCI, WGI, FFCC and MFA/BOA. He resides in Apollo Beach, Florida with his wife Karyn. He has two children, Jessykka and Brandon, a granddaughter Zoë, and his loyal dog, Ned.
Mrs. Kristin Greene is a proud graduate of Stetson University in Deland, Florida. She studied clarinet with Dr. L. Musco and Music Education with esteemed educators such as Bobby Adams.
Mrs. Greene is excited to continue her career at Lakewood Ranch High School after teaching elementary music for ten years. Her most recent position was the music specialist for Rogers Garden Elementary in its inaugural year after previously teaching at Kinnan Elementary.
As Assistant Band Director at Lakewood Ranch High School, Mrs. Greene will conduct and teach classes.
Her professional associations include FBA, FMEA, and Sigma Alpha Iota.
Kristin and her talented and supportive husband, Rob, are happy to call Parrish home. Together they have three precious daughters—Charlotte, Harper, and Natalie. Kristin has many non-musical hobbies and skill sets as well. Over the years, she has been a triathlete, a long distance cyclist, a private pilot, and a Les Mills group fitness instructor.
